First thing I noticed was "CTC Publishing" and "Filipino Webmaster" so immediately I discovered how great looking Bob Bly really is and that he'd been hiding his identity for a long time. Then I got thinking who's that other guy scamming us on all of Bob Bly's other pages?

Before you throw away the previous post, be sure to open and read THIS!

Bob, I just blogged about "The Copy God" and hope it brings you plenty of new subscribers.

Solid effort.

Wow!
- Compelling -
His copy is the most compelling ever in the history of the world!
- Brilliance -
His brilliance should serve as a reminder to all nations that world peace is indeed achievable IN OUR LIFETIMES.
- Humility -
Probably the most humble guy on earth too.
- Effective -
Strangely, after reading his webpage I just couldn't help but send him a large check* because I'm sure I'll be better at everything I do now.**

PS - I don't know Copy God but I strongly endorse his efforts to change copywriting as we know it.

PPS - Send him your check within the next 24 hours and you too will be able to claim that you have reached out and touched the face of Copy God. A once in a lifetime thrill that your friends will envy!! Act now!!!!

* Effect not typical. Your actual benefit and effect(s) may vary.

Wow this guy's stuff is GREAT!

And I know how he feels about being a "copywriting God".

Ever since I've been a "marketing great" I know it's not all it's cut up to be.

My wife refuses to grovel at my feet, I get no respect at home.

And I keep waiting for checks to arrive addressed to "marketing great, Cairns" but so far they haven't come.

At this rate I'll never be able to buy that private island I got lined up right after I first got called a marketing great.

There is a very famous and successful Australian ad agency owner John Singleton who said you'll be alright as long as you never believe your own bullshit.

Kindest regards,
Andrew Cavanagh

[...] It’s hard to be humble when you retired before you graduated Jr. High. Meet the Copy God, quite possibly the funniest sales letter spoof I’ve had the pleasure of linking to. Via GrokDotCom via Robert Bly. [...]

I found it very disturbing and thought for sure my computer had been injected with a virus. Why else would a site like that exist? Wow, it was really painful to read. In fact, I couldn't do it. I skimmed it.

The first few lines were so painful I actually had to skin to the end to make sure it was a parody. It's an interesting way to make a point, for sure. The proof that it works is really that we're all here talking about it.

And RonniC, I've lived in America for more than 30 years and have never met anyone who believes any of those things. Try meeting Americans before making assumptions.
