Lessons from my Colonoscopy

I just came back from a colonoscopy.
So I’m too zonked out from the general anesthesia to blog coherently on a marketing topic.
But I did learn a few things from the procedure:
1–Any day you are not at the doctor’s office is a good day.
2–Any day you are in good health is a good day.
3–I can drink 64 ounces of Gatorade with Miralax in an hour — but I sure don’t want to do it again.
4–Have your medical tests on time. I was 2 years late with my colonoscopy, which gave me reason to be nervous about the results (though I really wasn’t; but why take chances?).
5–Food never tastes as good as when you’ve been fasting — suggesting that taking a break from things can help you enjoy them more.

Bob, first, I hope all is well and you’re taking the time to rest up.
Second, you definitely win the award for being able to make use of ANY life experience as something to blog to your marketing audience.
(Makes me wonder if the time’s right to talk about my cystoscopy?)
Seriously though, I hope you feel better.

Bob, I’ll hit 5-0 in a couple of months, so I’ll be doing the same procedure. I recently took a good friend to the hospital for the same procedure, so at least I know what to expect.
I’m not looking forward to it, but one of my top goals is good health, so I’ll follow through.

Bob, Be glad you didn’t have to drink Go-Lytely or even Half-Lytely. I’ve done all three, and trust me, Gatorade and MiroLax is about the best you can do. Hope you got to choose your flavor of Gatorade.

I have had a couple. It is not one of my favorite tests.
I have bought two of your products recently, the Elance ebook, and the DVD/CD package on landing pages.
Being an old textbook publisher, they seemed pricey for the amount of content … BUT each brought me new business that more than paid the initial cost. Good job.

If want to live longer, we need to be healthy. We need to do something in order to have a healthy life. Healthy lifestyle includes balanced meals, enough sleep, regular exercise and at least yearly overall checkup.

I have just had my second roto-rooter in ten years and, thanks to the demerol cocktail, it was the best sleep I have had since my last one five years ago. So, just try to use your colonoscopies as opportunities to catch up on your REM! It sure is a relief when the doctor says, “See you in ten years.” Glad all was well.
To those in their thirties and forties, a colonoscopy is usually what your internist gives you for your fiftieth birthday.

Not exactly a day in the park, is it, Bob? About ten years ago, I helped fund full body scanning (ECT) centers in California. One of the services you can get at these centers is a virtual colonoscopy (VC).
The advantage of the VC is that it’s not invasive, and the preparation is much less stringent. A disadvantage of the VC, however, is that if a physician finds a polyp or some growth, he’ll have to “go inside” anyway.
Probably the best thing to do, if you’re in a low risk group (under fifty, no family history of colo-rectal cancer), consider the VC.

Regular check up is what we really need, aside from healthy lifestyle and regular exercise. We must do everything in order to maintain healthy. Personally, I usually feel sick everytime I go to my doctor. Well, the aura of the hospital itself makes me feel sick!

Speaking of fasting, the best book I ever read on the subject was by Dr Joel Fuhrman. There’s a lot more to fasting than I ever would have thought.

We need to take care of our body in order to avoid any possible sickness. Good diet and regular exercise can really help us to maintain our body. However, we still need to attend for our regular overall check up to make sure about our condition.

Getting sick isn’t that easy. You really need to take of yourself in order to avoid any illnesses. Like what Andrew said, you need to combine two factors: diet and exercise. In this way, you can maintain healthy body.

Yep… for anyone interested in the health of your colon, consider this: how much “civilized” processed crap including meats, designer drinks, low grade “food” (if you can call it that) like cheese, fries and burgers etc… do you consume every day? What part of your body do you think is FORCED to handle all that S***? So if you have some sort of vested interest in personal health change… go visit Dr.McDougall’s website, I am sure the Google Lady will help you find it.

As we grow older, we really need to make sure that we maintain our good health to avoid any possible problem. Having a balance diet, exercising and undergoing regular check up are few things we could do to maintain our good body condition.

i just underwent a colonescopy and as usual i screamed my head off all the way, it was my 5 time i go in for one and 5 time i screamed, the pain oh oh unbearable, the reason i go back is polyps polyps and more polyps
