What Hurricane Irene Taught Me About PC Back-Up

In the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, we lost Internet, fax, PC, and power for 2 days, not to mention we had 18 inches of water in the basement and no hot water.
Having? your data backed up doesn’t do much good if you can’t turn on your PC. And my UPS (uninterruptible power supply) kept the PC going for only 20 minutes or so.
That’s why I recommend you get another back-up device for your PC: a portable generator.
Every homeowner reading this should own a generator. The time to buy it is now, before the next power outage. Once disaster strikes, you won’t be able to get one.
Note: You also need a 5-gallon gas can to transport gasoline and several long extension cords. These too will become sold-out and impossible to get when the next crisis comes.

And in the words of my brother-in-law, “the time to make sure you have stabilizer in your gas can is before the power goes out when even the gas stations can not pump fresh gas.”

Bob, From a lifetime of hurricane storm experience … The best thing I just added to my portable generator and gas can(s) portfolio was an 1100w inverter (Amazon $60) and a 12v trolling motor battery. When we are not running the generator, we can charge cell phones, iPad, run fans and a small 19″ LCD tv (low power usage) using a home-made HD antenna and get over 20 HD channels to keep up with the emergency reports. My brother-in-law gave me the idea for the inverter. Saves on having to run the generator so much. Dennis Rome

I really feel as if you just mind-banged myself. Honestly, such as you hit inside my brain and pulled out there a fantasy I’ve had several times and introduced it back to me personally. I’m completely shaken at this time and two seconds out from coming. I’ve always thought about if I’d combat submissions. Many of my fantasies have me battling, some have me submitting a lot less strongly, but always there is that little bit of intimidation, dominance and overpowering.
